Marie Reine Hoareau, 36, was killed by her husband in Vaulx-en-Velin in France. The woman of Reunion origin was stabbed in front of three of her children aged 4 to 12. It was his 12-year-old son who called for help. When they arrived, they found her dead, lying in a pool of blood.
“A Wonderful Woman”
For pay homage to Marie-Reine, a white march is organized this Saturday in Saint-Paul. Walkers will set off from the Vital Basin at 1:00 p.m. and proceed to the Savannah Virgin. Participants are invited to bring a white t-shirt and a white flower, the procession will stop at the level of the virgin in Savannah.
For those close to Marie-Reine, this white march is a way of honoring her memory, but also of denouncing feminicides. “This march is very important, we were in shock when this tragedy happened. My cousin was a wonderful woman, full of joy. She died at 36, she had her whole life ahead of her. She dedicated her life to her children. This march is also a way to say stop to all her violence against women“, confides Yolaine, cousin of Marie-Reine.
A balloon release will be made on the sidelines of this white march.
